Cotton wadding.. this is a new product for me.. and I like it. More stable than the standard wadding I buy!
Elastic, a button and a chocolate bar!!

As these boxes are such good value: you always have more fabric than needed so I've decided on the floral and coordinating purple. I'm keeping my puffin piece back for now.
I like to mount my pattern on a cereal box to make it easier to draw around and to improve the durability of the pattern.. I can see these being popular with my family!
There is enough wadding for one Bowl and one Mug Cosy.. so I've grabbed my heat proof pen.. this will really help if you have one... you can draw the darts and sewing lines on the fabric and just iron off your pen marks.
The instructions are beautiful written.. with photo prompts all the way!
Once my fabric was cut out.. these cosys are reversible so you'll need to cut out two fabric pieces.. one for the top and one for the bottom.
I made holes into my Bowl cosy pattern at the end of the darts and used a ruler to mark the triangles out on my wadding and fabric.
The sew was straight forward and quick.. in no time at all I was reaching for my pinking shears to give the edge some flexibility before turning inside out.
The top stitch around the Bowl can feel a little bulking.. yet I'd recommend carefully snipping the excess before turning..that definitely helped me.
Also leave your gap big enough to turn your fabric inside out.. so that you don't put any pressure on your stitches.
The Mug cosy was very straightforward..
A rectangular piece of wadding and the two fabrics sew around: adding your elastic on one side. Again all turned through the gap at the bottom before top stitching. The little piece of elastic and button secures the cosy around your Mug. Super Cute!
Sewn or As the subscription box...It's a lovely set and a great idea to use yourself or as a gift. A winter warming sew from this wonderful company xx
