The Learn to Sew Club Box 5 has arrived! This month our task was to create a glasses case. Definitely something I need to learn to do. Within this box I received a very handy ruler for my tool kit that marks where I need to go with a moveable marker. I found this useful with this month this project to mark the clasps.
Overall this project was quite hard to do for me personally and thank goodness there was plenty of spare facing and fabric as I definitely needed it. However Nikola's videos were once again really helpful and easy to follow and I got there. Another little sewing achievement I’m very proud of, although I could have done loads better and I will be doing this project again to perfect these skills but as a starting base I was really proud of my achievement. Our new skill this box is inserting clasps and I always wondered how these are inserted and now I know and have done it myself. Overall it did not take me long, around about an hour. Within the video Nikola talks about the different clasps - you can also buy a sew in clasp which Nikola happily explained within the video on how to attach it, I thought was good because then I have a choice of inserting different clasps for future projects.
I just wanted to say Thank you to the little miss sew n sew team for putting together such wonderful boxes that has definitely improved my sewing skills immensely and grew my sewing tool kit. It’s given me that extra “Me” time from my busy life as a mum of a toddler to accomplish something for myself. I highly recommend these boxes as it’s a highlight of the month for me when I see the brown box with the blue little miss sew n sew sticker come through my letter box.
