The Fat Quarter Club by Sammy (@SammyScrunchies4)

My name is Sammy from @SammyScrunchies4 I started sewing with a sewing machine just over two years ago with a machine I was gifted. I had to YouTube everything from switching it on to using my "Sidney sewing machine" so completely self taught.
My two daughters were a real driving force to me starting my page on FB and later Insta! I sew most days and love to help others out, share my sews and promote my ethos of supporting small businesses.. so when @littlemisssewnsew.co.uk offered me the chance to become a brand ambassador for their stunning Fat Quarter subscription I was over the moon!!
The love I have for Fat Quarters....
(a fat quarter is a piece of fabric which is quarter of the metre, however rather than cut length ways and have a long piece of fabric.. the metre fabric is cut into four squares hence a Fat Quarter!)... is quite obsessive, they are my favourite way to purchase fabric and have so many uses... so here is what I thought of my very first Fat Quarter Club subscription box.
The box arrives around the 20th of the month and very importantly is packaged safely in a recyclable cardboard box. You never have to worry about missing your delivery or having it left in a safe place as it's posted right through your door. The outside has the littlemisssewnsew.co.uk brand name on so now you can start getting super excited!!
Inside is your monthly goodies wrapped up in coordinating tissue paper with a note telling you the make of the Fat Quarter fabric. This month was from the 'Nautical Collection' by Makower UK. Its a stunning beach hut collection with three Fat Quarters, a stick of rock as your sweet treat, a template pattern (which I mounted on cardboard so I can reuse it again and again) for a pocket that will be going onto the napkins I am sewing this month.
Full colour instructions are included with easy to follow steps by step photos (that's soooo helpful) I instantly made a coffee and ate my rock!! Yep I did.. sweet tooth!! I read through my instructions and decided how I would like my pocket napkins to look. I like to plan my fabric cutting so I can gain the maximum out of my fat quarters and have little or no wasted.
The fabric design is so cute and stunning to sew with. I really loved this fabric and could see so many more projects I'd like to sew with these beach hut theme set. It was easy to look on the littlemisssewnsew.co.uk website and find they stock the beach hut fabric that you can purchase in larger quantities so that was great.
I was able to follow my instructions and soon make my pocket napkins. Having the template ready in my subscription box made life much easier as I could cut it out and get stuck in!
The "My Guilty Pleasure" which covers all the subscription boxes have a private Facebook page that you can join so you have lots of instant friends you can share your monthly sews with and ask advice if you are stuck!
Included on the instructions were variations you could try and other sizes for napkins if you'd like to repeat the sew for a future project..I'm thinking Christmas
Overall.. an incredible treat for yourself or to gift to someone. Clear instructions and beginner friendly idea with template and of course your three stunning Fat quarters. These really are a complete Guilty Pleasure!  I'll be back next month to look at my second box!!
